Rimmel London has just brought out a brand NEW ‘Jelly Collection’ and I’m in love!
Jelly products are the latest beauty craze for 2019 in the makeup world and they’re set to be around for quite a while.
Forget matte powders and blushers this season, what you NEED are jelly blushers and jelly highlighters to make your skin glow this summer. They contain buildable pigments that will last all day or night.
Rimmel jellies are effortless to apply and lightweight in texture, making your cheeks explode with colour and will leave your skin with a dewy glow. They also have an amazing, cooling refreshing sensation when applied to the skin.
The jellies have a water-based formula, making them quick and easy to apply and they don’t require lots of rubbing into the skin like conventional cream blushers.
Jelly blush and highlighters are officially the NEW way to add a pop of colour to your cheeks and highlight your features this summer!
I loved these products so much that I couldn’t decide which products and colours I liked the most, so I just bought them all! They have now become part of my daily makeup routine and I really do prefer these to a matte powder blusher.

If you are after a blusher that is super easy to apply, then this Rimmel jelly blush is for you. It’s a mixture of cream and liquid with a jelly-like wibbly-wobbly texture. You can wear this alone or over the top of your foundation or setting powder.
This bouncy jelly formula is really easy to build up and glides on with ease without leaving a sticky residue behind creating a beautiful dewy shine.
These products are great for those of you who wake up and only apply minimal makeup in the mornings, as they are so quick and easy to apply, and especially great for mums on the go.
They can be used for daytime or evening wear and won’t smudge your makeup or go blotchy.
When you are searching for a blusher to suit your skin tone, the trick is to go for a more vivid colour than what you think you need, as when the colour hits your skin it will take on a whole new light.
How to Apply
Now, before you go slap dashing this product all over your cheeks and ending up with the aunt Sally look – be warned, a little goes a very long way! The small pot can be very deceiving and contains a high pigmentation, meaning you will only need a tiny amount of this product to achieve a flushed look on your cheeks.
To apply, start with a small amount on your fingers and dab across the apples of your cheeks adding more as you desire and patting with your fingers to blend the product in. Because of the jelly texture, a makeup brush just wouldn’t work here.
It is often recommended that if you use a setting powder, you should apply the jelly blush first to avoid a puddle mark being left in your powder, however, I have to disagree here and apply it over the top of my setting powder and I’ve never had any problems with puddle marks or blotchiness!
Let’s take a look at the colours. They come in four different shades and they are all really pretty:
001 – Melon Madness
003 – Peach Punch
004 – Bubble Gum Chum
005 – Berry Bounce
Apply a small amount of the jelly blush to your lips to add a dash of colour/sparkle to match your cheeks!
Have you tried the new way to highlight with jelly? Rimmel Jelly highlighters have exceeded my expectations and will make your skin come alive, giving your skin an effortless sun-kissed glow this summer. Your cheeks will dazzle and shine with these bouncy jelly highlighters which are packed with iridescent pigment.
These are great for wearing around the pool and beach this summer and even great for festivals. They dry super-fast on application and leave your skin with a beautiful sheen.
Where to Use the Highlighter
The jelly highlighters can be used to enhance many of your features and create a contoured look. Try applying them to:
- Cupids bow (top of the lip)
- Below the brow
- Bridge of the nose
- Inner corners of the eyes
You can even apply a small amount of the jelly highlighter over the top of the jelly blush to create a strobed effect, or even on your eyelids for a bit of extra sparkle.
The jelly highlighters come in three different pastel colours and provide a great sun-kissed look:
010 – Poppin’ Bottles
020 – Candy Queen
040 – Shifty Shimmer
These little pots of jelly blush are priced at £7.99 each. This isn’t a bad price in my opinion, considering you only need to apply a very small amount and they will last much longer than your average powder blusher.
The jelly highlighters are slightly more expensive at £8.99, which is also still a good price. Boots and Superdrug currently have a 3 for 2 offer on these jelly products so you can stock up on your favourite colours!
Add a small amount of jelly highlighter to your foundation for a shimmery look in the evening or special occasion. You can even add a bit to your lips for some extra shimmer.
The only downside that I found with the jelly products was the foil seal which was a bit of a mission and quite messy trying to remove it! And, if you don’t wash your hands straight after application, your fingers will soon match your cheeks!
Another point that I want to mention is that these jelly products only have a shelf life of 6 months, so you need to use these every day to avoid waste!
But don’t let these minor points put you off. Other than a few downsides, I would recommend all of the Rimmel jelly products.
Rimmel Jelly Collection
Rimmel London has surpassed my expectations with their new jelly collection and really do have the wow factor. These products were a great buy in my eyes and a real must-have product for your makeup bag this summer. I certainly won’t be going back to a powder blush after discovering these new jelly products!
